WHY OAHU INSIGHTS?
Most Hawaiian tours are simply drivers who have memorized a prepared script. To appreciate the real Hawaii, you need a guide that can weave Hawaii’s turbulent volcanic past and spectacular tropical setting with the history of the people from all around the Pacific who came to make this island their home. My goal is to spark your imagination from both the well-loved and unique lesser-known sights and stories of this island that I have spent a lifetime getting to know.
You can expect an extraordinary experience of discovery. All tours are private so we can make unscripted stops for sightings of whales or monk seals, meet with lei makers as they weave a floral work of art, watch a local festival or surfing competition, or simply stop for Hawaiian shave ice on a hot day.
I am not willing to compromise in any way. For instance, on tours requiring a car, you will also have a full time driver to ensure I am focusing all my time being a guide rather than on safe driving or finding a parking space.
Please feel free to contact me to customize one of the existing tours, or suggest ideas of your own that will leave you awe-inspired with “...the loveliest fleet of islands that lies anchored in any ocean.” (Mark Twain)
Mahalo and hope to see you soon!

“We have travelled the world and this is the best tour, group or private, that we have taken. Scott's knowledge and enthusiasm for the island is contagious. He's articulate and highly personable. ”

Scott is the grandson of a sugar cane plantation worker who arrived in Oahu from Japan in 1902. Scott spent his life as a world traveler, visiting or living in 47 countries around the world. For many years Scott was Sr. Vice President of International Consulting Services and Customer Services at multiple high-tech software companies managing teams in the USA, Europe and Asia.
